FAQ
Questions, answered
If something here is still unclear, the documentation goes deeper, or you can just ask us.
Do members have to connect a wallet?
No. Verification works by self-transfer: the bot tells the member an exact amount to send from their wallet back to that same wallet. Once the transaction is visible on-chain, the wallet is verified. There is no browser connection, no signature, and no seed phrase — and no refund step either, because the funds moved from the member to themselves and never left their control.
What happens when someone sells or drops below the threshold?
A daily purge re-checks every member against your active gates and removes anyone who no longer satisfies at least one of them. Whitelisted members are exempt. You can also run a purge manually at any time, or switch automatic purges off.
Which blockchains are supported?
Solana, Ethereum, Base, BSC (Binance Smart Chain), Robinhood, and TON. In the wallets panel the four EVM chains — Ethereum, Base, BSC, and Robinhood — are grouped together as 'EVM', while Solana and TON are listed separately.
Can I combine different kinds of gates on one chat?
Yes, and they act as alternatives rather than requirements. A chat can have up to five token gates, one net worth gate, and up to three payment gates (one monthly, one yearly, one lifetime). A member only needs to meet one of them to get in and stay in.
If a member verifies several wallets, do all of them count?
Yes. Token balances and total portfolio value are summed across every wallet a member has verified, so holdings split across a hot wallet and cold storage are credited in full.
What is a net worth gate?
Instead of checking one balance, a net worth gate checks the combined USD value of a member's verified wallets across all supported chains. Only liquid tokens count: native coins, their wrapped forms, major stablecoins, and individually reviewed tokens. You set a single minimum, such as $10,000. It suits communities that care about who is serious rather than who holds one specific asset.
See every token that countsWhy doesn't every token count toward net worth?
Because thinly traded tokens are easy to game. If someone holds 10% of a token with a $3M market cap, their wallet looks like it is worth $300,000, but selling even part of it would crash the price. Counting tokens like that would let anyone launch or accumulate their way into a high net worth chat. Net worth only counts tokens that could realistically be sold at the quoted price, matched by contract address so lookalike copies get no value.
See the full listWhat is a multichain token?
A token that exists on more than one chain. If you register it on Multichain Metrics, the bot treats its addresses as a single logical token and adds holdings together. Someone with half the threshold on Solana and half on Base still passes the gate.
Should I add the bot before or after members join?
Before, ideally. Telegram does not give bots access to a chat's historical member list, so the bot can only reliably track members who join after it is present. If you add it to an existing chat, those earlier members need to be synced or re-join before the purge will include them.
Can I charge for access?
Yes, with payment gates. You set a USD price for monthly, yearly, or lifetime access — one of each per chat — and choose which chains you accept. Members pay in that chain's native coin, converted at the current rate, and each payment is forwarded automatically to your own payout wallet minus a 3% service fee. Custom tokens are not accepted as payment.
How much does TG Token Gates cost?
A one-time fee of $200 per chat unlocks every current and future feature for that chat. There is no subscription. You can pay on Solana, Ethereum, Base, BSC, Robinhood, or TON, and the bot locks the exact amount in that chain's native coin when you pick one.
What happens when a subscription runs out?
The member is removed from the chat and sent a prompt to re-subscribe, along with a link straight back to your payment gate.
Can I build a gate that isn't one of the standard types?
Yes. Custom gates can be built for you — for example ones based on staked positions or an integration with another service. Get in touch and describe what you need.
